1994 - Corel PhotoPaint
Created for a friend of a friend, as it were... This was the first time I aimed seriously for a photo-realistic image, and long before I had the budget for the sort of software that would have let me achieve it. I hadn't realised that it would be such a problem, though, until I started merging the scanned photo with the digitally-created background - any "real world" components brutally reveal the weaknesses of the rendered parts of an image. I only completed a very small part of the final look, the turned-over corner of the Post-It note... but considering that by that time I was working on the individual pixels with blurring and smoothing brushes, I marvel now that I managed to achieve even that.
